Part of preparedness is security. If you want to be ready for anything, that includes the dangers of attackers and intruders. But you can’t constantly be on watch. The next best thing is to have a motion sensor security camera. Here are some of our favorite options
Best Bargain
Not everyone is made of cash. If you want something that does the job well without breaking the bank, then I recommend the Tend Insight Lynx. It offers the same resolution and acceptable view angles, it comes with night vision, facial recognition, motion tracking, and even has free cloud storage. Best of all, it only costs $50.
The low price comes with a few limitations, unfortunately. It doesn’t support 5 GHz internet, so if you don’t have a 2.4 GHz option, then it won’t connect. And while it has the seven-day storage, there’s no option to upgrade the capacity.
Specs:
- Resolution: 1080p
- Field of view angle: 125°
- Night vision up to 20 feet
- Two-way voice audio
- Free lifetime 7-day cloud storage

Best Features
Let’s say money IS an unlimited resource for you. In that case, you want the Zmodo Pivot. It has full rotation, door and window sensors, and the highest quality motion detection on the market. It also comes with a number of other features, like temperature and humidity. It will also follow any moving targets it locks on to automatically.
The downside, like the last model, is that it doesn’t support 5 GHz internet.
Specs:
- Resolution: 1080p HD
- Field of view: 120°
- 350° rotation
- Night vision up to 30 feet
- Two-way voice audio
- Built-in Bluetooth speaker

Conclusion
The Lynx is a fantastic budget camera, while the Pivot offers you the best quality for a bit more on the price tag. We recommend both, no doubt.
